ThisFicWriter is the home for my original fiction, my design and digital media portfolios, essays, and whatever else takes my fancy. There are other places on the interwebs that are already much better, fully featured homes for specific content. My non-portfolio artwork can be found on DeviantArt. My fanfiction at Fanfiction.net. My photography on Flickr. My video work on Youtube. If this seems like a lot of things to be taking on at once, sometimes it does seem like a lot, but multitasking is the order of the day.
What about me you ask? I’m a creative digital media specialist, working in the radio industry. Radio is a weird beast…but I’m somehow suited to it. There is a little bit of everything involved…graphic design, photography, videography, web content management…It’s fun, fast paced, and a little more hectic than I would prefer. I live and work in the Kansas City Missouri area. I’m a midwesterner, born and raised. I have a bachelors degree in graphic design. In addition to all of the various activities mentioned above, I also paint, read, and ‘play’ guitar. I quoted ‘play’ because I’m just picking it back up after quite a while and I wasn’t really great to begin with. I’m also trying to learn how to play piano. I also participate in league bowling once a week. I’ve been doing that off and on since middle school.
Hopefully that’s enough about me. As content is added to the site, and it becomes more fully formed, things will evolve. This ‘About’ page included. I’m not quite sure yet how I will handle feedback (either through public comment or email). Once I have enough content that I feel it is worth it, I may provide a donation channel. I would love, someday, for this to become a full-time job.
